March 3, 2019 (Lemon Grove) – The long-awaited Lemon Grove Community Garden will have its grand opening celebration on Saturday, March 30 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. The site is located at 7730 Central Avenue, at the corner of Olive St. and Central Ave.
Parking is available on the north side.
The Lemon Grove community is invited to come celebrate this exciting and healthy option.
The event is organized by the Lemon Grove Community Garden, Thrive Lemon Grove, Community Health Independent Partners, and Lemon Grove Heal Zone.
Individuals, businesses and organizations in Lemon Grove can join and have their own raised bed to grow produce. Each bed measures 4 x 8 feet, is 18 inches deep, and has access to drip irrigation. There are also special beds available to acommodate seniors and those in wheelchairs. Members also have access to training resources, workshops and events.
Memberships are available for $100 year, which can be paid quarterly, and fee waivers are available for low-income individuals.
