July 30, 2024 (Lemon Grove) – An arrest has been made in a deadly hit-and-run incident in Lemon Grove. An investigation by detectives with the San Diego County Sheriff's Office's Homicide Unit identified 45-year-old Nicholas Hoskin of El Cajon as the suspect in the murder of Brian Colvin on July 22.
Witnesses told police that the victim was standing in front of the vehicle speaking with its occupants when the driver intentionally accelerated, injuring Colvin who later died at a hospital.
A warrant was issued for Hoskin's arrest. On July 25, he was arrested by the Mesa County Sheriff's Office's Major Offender Task Force in Grand Junction, Colorado. Hoskin is now awaiting extradition to San Diego County, says Lt. Michael Krugh.
The San Diego County Sheriff's Office wants the public's help in locating the following suspect vehicle:
White 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Quad Cab 4X2 with chrome trim, running boards, mud flaps and a tow hitch bearing California license plate 51340A2.
