August 4, 2016 (Lemon Grove) -- Artist Jack Ofield of Lemon Grove has received a Special Recognition Award in the "15th Annual Summer All Media Juried Online International Art Exhibition hosted by Upstream People Gallery.
This international exhibition received approximately 80 art entries from around the world and 16 artists were selected by the juror Laurence Bradshaw, Professor Emeritus of Art & Art History at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Professor Bradshaw states the following about this specially recognized work: "Jack Ofield of Lemon Grove, California gives the show a good example of combining different software. 'Waiting for the Cross Town Bus' is created with Flash, Photoshop, After Effects and Final Cut Pro. For this post-modernistic approach the work gains credibility and significance. The cityscape stage with the clown outfit may suggest the light-heartedness amidst the seriousness of the business sensed in the buildings."
Ofield issued the following statement about his special artistic work: "'Waiting for the Cross-Town Bus" is part of a series of tableaux, inviting introspection about the human comedy, in this case, how the unexpected is always en route. Entirely computer-generated, using a variety of software, each picture uses layered color and frequent historical/literary references, in this case, Lear's Fool (thank you, Edward De Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford, the probable author)."'
The exhibition will be featured online during August, 2016 at www.upstreampeoplegallery.com andcontinue indefinitely in the archives section of the website.
